“Kreativ Blogger Award”

Sometime ago we received a nomination for a “Kreativ Blogger Award” from wonderful Assia. We are extremely grateful as it is an amazing gift to us-  new and first time bloggers.

We apologies that it took us a while to accept this award as to accept this award, we have to:

The hardest dish to cook/bake

Hello world and everybody in it!

Sorry it has been a while but we have not forgotten about you. We have been busy exploring this beautiful country that we have chosen to be our home – New Zealand and soaking in the sunshine. Winter is coming and we are getting less and less of it. We went to Castlepoint and it was beautiful as, look at it

Just wanted to share these images with you as they are so beautiful.

Back to the topic. We were chatting to a friend the other day about our blog and it made us realise how great it is that we can use Trev’s skills in cooking and portray it to you through Gailas eyes as an amature cook. That way even the hardest dishes seem a lot easier.

We all have a dish that never comes out the way it should or we are not confident enough to even try. So why don’t you post a comment with the dish that you find hard or that you would like to try and we will have a go at simplifying it for you 🙂

Hello Hello!

Hope you ladies and gentleman are all well and enjoying your Easter break! Here is a little idea we was and thought it would be a great idea to have a go and share with you guys! We found this idea from La receta de la Felicidad.

You will need:

  • 12 eggs to use as shells
  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 125 g butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 225 g granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 150 g plain flour
  • 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder

First job you`ll have to do is prepare your eggs, make a whole in the bottom of the egg, using a cork screw

Peel a little bit of the shell back, then stick a needle inside to break up the yolk

Empty the eggs into a bowl, you can use these for something else (like dinner, egg fried rice, yum yum!)

Soak the egg shells in salty water (100 g to a litre of water) for 30 minutes

After 30 minutes, rinse with cold water then drain upside down till dry. Add around 1 teaspoon of veg oil inside the shell and roll around making sure the inside is all coated. Drain the excess out.

Preheat your oven to 180 c/350 f. Make little egg cups out of tin foil, so your eggs can stand up on a tray in the oven, as demonstrated by Gaila or you can use a muffin tin.

Place your egg-shells on a baking tray, so your ready to fill when you have made your brownie mix

Melt your chocolate and butter in a heat proof bowl over a pot of simmering water. while it is melting, mix your eggs and sugar together, then sieve your flour, salt and cocoa powder together.

Add your egg/sugar mix whisking together

Then using a spoon stir in your flour/cocoa/salt mix

Place the batter in a piping bag with a small nozzle pipe into the shells filling 3/4 full

Bake for 15-20 minutes


This might happen! So if it does it is better to give them a little clean while they are hot, when they are cold it is very hard. Be gentle

Allow to cool then put back in the egg carton

Look like normal eggs?????
